Privacy Policy
Last updated October 14, 2026
BipolarEntrepreneurs.com is a directory of entrepreneurs living with bipolar disorder and the things they’ve built. Because what people share here can be personal, this page explains in plain language what we collect, who can see it, and how to have it changed or removed.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address, and your name and profile photo if you sign in with LinkedIn.
- Profile details you give us: name, photo, headline, location, links (such as LinkedIn or your website), and what you’ve built (companies, books, podcasts, newsletters, YouTube channels).
- Your story: if you write one, the text you choose to share. It may include health information, so you control who can see it (see below).
- Basic usage data: privacy-friendly page-view analytics (see “Analytics”).
We don’t collect payment details, and we don’t ask you for a medical diagnosis or records.
Sign in with LinkedIn
If you choose “Continue with LinkedIn”, we use Sign In with LinkedIn using OpenID Connect to receive your name, email address and profile photo. We use these only to create your account and pre-fill your profile. We don’t post to LinkedIn, and we don’t access your connections, messages or other LinkedIn data. We copy your photo to our own storage because LinkedIn’s image links expire. You can sign in with just your email instead.
Who can see what
- Nothing is published without your consent. A profile goes live only after you confirm you consent to it being published and we have reviewed it.
- Profiles we create for you: if we prepare a draft profile about you, it stays private and is never shown publicly until you claim it through a personal link emailed to you and confirm your consent. If you didn’t expect the email, ignore it and nothing is published.
- Your story has three settings: public (anyone), community only (signed-in members), or private (only you and site administrators). You choose when you submit it.
- Your email address is never shown on your public profile.
- A small number of site administrators can view and edit submissions in order to review and publish them.
How we use your information
- To create and show your profile and listings, once you’ve consented.
- To sign you in, and to email you about your account: login links, profile review and approval, and claim invitations.
- To review submissions and keep the directory accurate and safe.
- To understand, in aggregate, which pages are useful.
We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t use it for advertising.
Services that handle data for us
We use these providers to run the site. Each processes data only to provide its service:
- Supabase — database, file storage and sign-in.
- Vercel — website hosting.
- Resend — sending the emails described above.
- Fathom Analytics — page-view analytics.
- LinkedIn — only if you choose to sign in with it.
Our newsletter is run on Substack, and our community on Skool. If you subscribe or join, you are giving that service your details directly, under its own privacy policy.
Cookies and analytics
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. Our analytics (Fathom) is designed not to use cookies or track you across websites. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.
Keeping your information
We keep your profile and account for as long as you have one. When you ask us to delete it, we remove your profile, story, listings and photo, and your account. Backups may keep residual copies for a short period before they are overwritten.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us at any time to show you what we hold about you, correct it, change your story’s visibility, unpublish your profile, or delete everything. Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR or California law), you may have additional legal rights, and we’ll honor them. Email joe@advisortechbook.com and we’ll respond promptly.
Security
Access to data is restricted by database-level rules, so private stories can’t be read by other visitors, and connections are encrypted. No online service can promise perfect security, but we take reasonable care to protect what you share.
Who this is for
This site is for adults. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
If you’re in crisis
This site shares personal stories and resources and is not medical advice. If you’re in crisis, call or text 988 (US Suicide & Crisis Lifeline).
Changes and contact
If we change this policy in a meaningful way we’ll update the date above, and email account holders where appropriate. Questions about privacy? Contact joe@advisortechbook.com.
